How to shorten pauses automatically
The tool finds quiet sections and shortens them. It is useful for spoken recordings with long gaps. In Cleanup, enable silence removal and adjust the silence threshold and minimum pause length.

What do threshold and pause length mean?
The threshold defines what counts as silence, from −60 to −20 dB. A threshold of −20 dB includes more quiet sounds than −60 dB. The minimum length, from 0.2 to 3 seconds, determines how long a quiet section must last. Start with −40 dB and 0.5 seconds, then assess the result.
What if words are being cut off?
Lower the threshold, for example from −40 to −50 dB, or increase the minimum pause length. Quiet speech and musical fades can also be detected as silence. Listen to the entire processed recording. The exact output duration is known after processing and may be shorter than the initial estimate.

How long is the result available?
